31. Oktober 2025 ab 18 Uhr – Sektempfang meets Halloween-Party

Das halbjährliche Highlight ist zurück! Wie in jedem Semester lädt das Queer-Referat zum feierlichen Sektempfang ein – diesmal mit einem schaurig-schönen Twist: Da wir den Semesterstart passenderweise an Halloween feiern, dürfen Kostüme, Grusel und Glitzer nicht fehlen (ihr müsst euch aber auch nicht verkleiden). Eingeladen sind alle queeren Wesen und ihre Freund*innen.

The biannual highlight is back! As in every semester, the Queer Department warmly invites you to our festive sparkling reception – this time with a spooky-sparkly twist: since we’re celebrating the start of the semester right on Halloween, costumes, creepiness and glitter are absolutely welcome (but you don’t have to dress up). All queer folks and their friends are invited.

📍 Location: AStA Wing at the University of Hamburg campus, Von-Melle-Park 5, Room 0029 (with adjoining room 0039)

Wir laden euch herzlich ein zu einem Abend voller Spannung, Spaß und Teamgeist:
Bei „Stürm den Gipfel“ tretet ihr in Teams gegeneinander an und kämpft euch Spiel für Spiel dem Gipfelsieg entgegen.

Euch erwarten viele kurze, abwechslungsreiche Mini-Games – mal braucht ihr Köpfchen, mal Geschick, mal einfach gute Nerven (und vielleicht ein bisschen Glück ). Ob Quiz, Aktion oder Chaos – jedes Spiel bringt euch ein Stück weiter Richtung Gipfelspitze.

We’re stoked to invite you to an evening full of excitement, laughs, and team spirit!

At “Storm the Summit,” you’ll face off in teams and battle your way, game by game, toward the peak.
Expect heaps of short and fun mini-games – sometimes you’ll need brains, sometimes skill, and sometimes just good nerves (and maybe a bit of luck).
Whether it’s a quiz, action challenge or total chaos – every round gets you one step closer to the summit!

ihr seid herzlich eingeladen zu der Vortragsreihe der geographischen Gesellschaft Hamburg. Alle 2 Wochen finden Vorträge zum Thema „Naturschutz und Biodiversität“ sowie „Friedens- und Konfliktforschung“ statt. Immer Donnerstags ab 18.15 in H2.

Der erste Vortrag ist bereits heute Abend. Prof. Florian Dünckmann von der Uni Kiel hält enen Vortrag zum Thema „Das Dorf als politischer Ort: Politiken der Idylle und Mikrotopologien der Macht“

Das jeweilige Programm findet ihr mit genauerer Beschreibung weiter unten im Dokument.
Kommt gerne vorbei- alle sind eingeladen (auch nicht Mitglieder!)

You’re all warmly invited to the lecture series hosted by the Geographical Society of Hamburg!
Every two weeks there’ll be talks on the topics “Nature Conservation and Biodiversity” and “Peace and Conflict Research.”
They’re on Thursdays at 6:15 pm in room H2.

The first talk is already happening tonight!
Prof. Florian Dünckmann from the University of Kiel will be speaking on: “The Village as a Political Space: Politics of Idyllic Places and Micro-Topologies of Power.

Zusammen (im) Fluss – das war die Zielsetzung eines Projektseminars, das im Sommersemester 2025 unter der Leitung von Dr. Katrin Singer
und Dr. Isabel von Holt stattgefunden hat. Dafür haben Studierende des Instituts für Liberal Arts & Sciences und des Instituts für Geographie aus verschiedenen disziplinären Perspektiven das Denken und Praktizieren um und mit Flüssen erprobt und den Fluss vor ihrer
Haustür besser kennengelernt: die Tideelbe. In der Ausstellung_
Zusammen (im) Fluss_ präsentieren Sie ihre Arbeiten. Der Titel greift
das Konzept der Konfluenz auf, das auf den quilombola Meister Antônio Bispo dos Santos zurückgeht:

„Ein Fluss hört nicht auf, ein Fluss zu sein, weil er mit einem
anderen Fluss zusammenfließt; im Gegenteil, er bleibt er selbst und
wird zu anderen Flüssen, er wird stärker. Wenn wir zusammenfließen,
hören wir nicht auf, wir selbst zu sein, wir bleiben wir und werden
andere Menschen – wir gehen darin auf. Die Konfluenz ist eine Kraft,
in der wir aufgehen, die zunimmt, die sich ausdehnt.“

Am 24. Oktober 2025 ab 15 Uhr laden wir herzlich zur Ausstellung „Zusammen (im) Fluss“ in die Bootswerkstatt der Honigfabrik in Wilhelmsburg ein. Die Veranstaltung ist Teil des Programms der Hamburger Horizonte, die sich 2025 dem Thema „Über Wasser“ widmen.

Confluence– that was the objective of a project seminar held in the summer semester of 2025 under the
direction of Dr. Katrin Singer and Dr. Isabel von Holt. To this end, students from the Institute for Liberal Arts & Sciences and the Institute for Geography explored thinking and practicing around and with rivers from various disciplinary perspectives and got to know the river on their doorstep better: the Tidal Elbe. They present their work in the exhibition – Confluence. The title picks up on the concept of confluence, which goes back to the quilombola master Antônio Bispo dos Santos: “A river does not cease to be a river because it flows together with another river; on the contrary, it remains itself and becomes other rivers, it becomess tronger. When we flow together, we do not cease to be ourselves, we remain ourselves and become other people – we merge into it. Confluence is a force in which we merge, which increases, which expands.”

On October 24, 2025, starting at 3 p.m., we cordially invite you to the exhibition Together (in) Flow at the boat workshop of the Honigfabrik in Wilhelmsburg. The event is part of the Hamburg Horizons program, which will be dedicated to the theme “Above Water” in 2025.
